The “No Kings” rally on Saturday and marching to protest President Donald Trump and his policy attracted a large crowd to the loop, but no major incidents were reported from early evening. Various companies rented on Friday on -board crews as a precautionary measure to protect their store fronts. Until now, those reinforcements were not necessary.
A 21-year-old man in the suburbs who was arrested during a protest in the loop on Thursday evening because he reportedly had a firearm while he was presenting himself as a police officer was not accused of misconduct from the afternoon on Saturday, said a spokesperson for CPD.
In the meantime, CWBCHICAGO has learned more about some of the 17 demonstrators who were arrested during a problematic protest on Tuesday evening. Arrest reports show that the most serious charges that were submitted, making physical contact with police officers during the event in the city center.
Asnat Berestizhevsky, 27, of the 1200 block of North Maplewood, is accused of throwing water bottles to the police, one of which has affected a CPD police sergeant, according to its arrest report. After she had been taken into custody, officers heard that she corresponded to the description of someone who sprayed graffiti on a CPD car car in the protest, according to the report. It said that officers found a spray paint in her backpack. She is accused of criminal criminal damage, crime battery and resistance.
Natalie Copeland, 20, of the 400 block of East Oakwood, is accused of two crime counts of worsened battery of a peace officer. Copeland, while wore all the black clothes and wore a Mexican flag on his back, threw a “unknown liquid” into two uniformed officers near State and Washington, according to a CPD report. Copeland was previously identified in a CPD -Media release as Nathan Sol.
Yony Salgado, 33, of the 2700 block of South Homan, became “furious” when the screaming of obscenities against officers did not get a response from agents trying to stop an “unmanageable crowd to stop an arrest,” said his arrest report. When an officer did not respond, Salgado looked straight at [the officer] and spit on [the officer’s] Face, “said the report. Salgado would have fled the scene while the officer kept trying to control the crowd. But the officer later crossed paths with him and took him in custody.
Johnathan Ellison, 37, of the 1000 block of South Clark, is also accused of crime worsened battery of a peace officer. According to his arrest report, he threw a bottle with an “unknown liquid” that landed on the face, vest and the pants of an officer. That officer tackled Ellison, who made a “spontaneous expression that it was just water and got his emotions the best of him,” said the report.
Jordan Schnitz, 33, is said to have waved a protest poster who has hit a CPD sergeant in the face is near and Monroe. Officers had to take her off the ground “several times” because she repeatedly became “dead weight”, said her arrest report. She is accused of battery and resistance crime counts. Her home address is not on her arrest report.
Joel Perez, 22, from Summit Argo, Illinois, refused to take a step back from a police line and began to “reckless his arms in the crowd,” said his arrest report. It said that he went to officers “in an aggressive attitude while they were surrounded by a crowd” capable and monroe. A criminal complaint said he was seen that he threw bumps at officers. He is accused of crime reckless behavior that causes physical injury.
Noor Soufan, 31, of the 100 block of East 14th Street repeatedly tried to “invade the police line” near Michigan and Washington, according to her arrest report. The report said that she was screaming blasphemy against a male CPD sergeant “in a furious way and then strongly bumped her chest against him. She is also accused of hitting a female sergeant, who bruises the elbow and the hand of the officer. Two other officers would have suffered injuries while they tried to hold her, one on a ring finger and the other on his shoulder. She is charged with two counts of aggravated battery from a peace officer and two counts of resistance.
Police reports were not immediately available for the balance of the detainees. According to CPD, those individuals and their charges are:

- Ali Khaledodeh, 26, Criminal Defacement Criminal
- Charles Brooks, 20, criminal criminal defacement and a quote for possession of paint or a marker with the intention of harming
- Jacqueline Rincon, 21, Crime Resistance or Hind
- Jose Stewart, 23, crime reckless behavior
- Anusha Singh, 25, crime reckless behavior
- Lucas Shutt, 20, crime reckless behavior
