MFA in Art Studio

The three year old MFA in Art Studio program offers specializations in art and ecology, ceramics, experimental art and technology, painting and drawing, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

MA/PhD in Art History

The MA/PhD in Art History allows you to study art and visual culture to explore the intellectual and cultural history of humanity. Specializations range from medieval to contemporary art, with a focus on Arts of the Americas and diverse cultural contexts.

MA in Art Education

The MA in Art Education is an experiential program that combines theory and practice, with an emphasis on art making as research and innovative pedagogical approaches. Prepare to teach and work with students of all ages in diverse arts education settings.


Our nationally and internationally renowned faculty at the University of New Mexico mentor students in a collaborative, inclusive environment where creativity and critical thinking thrive.

Applications for MFA programs are due by January 15, 2025, with rolling admissions for arts education.
