CWBCHICAGO was the first to report that a dog died after contact with a manhole cover that was electrified around 1:30 PM on Saturday near Dearborn and Ontario. City officials have since confirmed that a second dog survived that he was shocked earlier in the day.

CDOT responded on the scene on Saturday and corrected the problem within an hour, according to Reilly, who said that the area is ‘currently safe’.
