In ancient Greece, amphorae were often used to transport or store liquids and grains such as wine, oil or grains. A narrow neck and large, oval body could be easily moved with handles on each side. Located in front of Paris Studio Doppela collaboration between Lionel Dinis Salazar and Jonathan Omar, a millennia-old form inspires a contemporary collection.
Neophore is a series of terracotta and enamel vessels, intersected with loops, handle-like tubes of glowing neon. Located between sculpture, vessel and lamp, the series takes a refined yet playful approach to the relationship between form and function.
Salazar and Omar worked together as a ceramist Aliénor Martineauwho specializes in natural mineral-based glazes, to personalize a reflective enamel that would come to life under the light.
