From “Miller Time” to imprisonment.
A driver clocked 122 MPH by agents admitted to being allowed on the highway to puff a beer, the authorities in Connecticut said.
Carlos Gallegos-Loja, 23, from Brockton, Massachusetts, was first noticed by the State Police after he went to the side of the road in his Chevrolet Traverse on I-84 West in West Hartford around 1 o’clock on Sunday, according to one Declaration of the State Police of Connecticut.
According to the State Police, all passengers of the SUV were outside the vehicle at that time, who drove away before they returned to check them.
But by that time the car had disappeared, the police said.
The SUV was spotted shortly thereafter by another Staatstrooper who rode 122 MPH in a zone of 65 MPH and failed to stay in one row a few kilometers away, according to the State Police.
Gallegos-Loja showed “clear signs of limitations” when he was persuaded by troopers, including slow actions and slow speech, the state police said.
Open alcohol containers were also spotted in the SUV, and Gallegos-Loja admitted that the first time he had stopped, it was that he could puff a beer, according to the police.
“When he was asked about stopping … Gallegos-Loja explained that he had stopped drinking a beer and continued on his way to the west,” the police said in their statement.
Gallegos-Loja failed field sober tests and was arrested immediately.
He is confronted with multiple costs, including reckless driving, driving under the influence, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimal insurance, not driving in the correct lane on a limited access road, incorrect parking, driving a motor vehicle without a driving license and drinking while driving.
Gallegos-Loja was released on a bond of $ 1,000 and will appear on July 15 in Hartford Superior Court.
