Drunk driver caught almost seven times over the limit after crash

A man who has caused a crash with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) who is said to be almost seven times higher than the legal limit is expected to be accused of several offenses.

According to the Victoria police, the 29-year-old man collapsed his Mazda in a Ute on the Prinsesfreeway in Hoppers who crossed at about 11:20 pm on 8 February 2025 before he bumped into a pole.

The vehicle has reportedly received extensive damage, although the occupants of both vehicles escaped without serious injuries.

After a breath test on the scene of the incident, the man reportedly sent back a positive result, indicating that he was more than the 0.05 BAC limit for drivers with full license.

A proof breath test was then performed at a police station, where he is said to have returned a lecture of 0.326 BAC.

The Drug and Alcohol Clinical Advisory Service (DACAS) says that a BAC can be fatal or higher, which means that this motorist was needed dangerously close to hospitalization.

According to the Victoria police, the man is expected to be accused of a summons of drinking companies and driving while he is disqualified.
