East Harlem man, 62, accused of stabbing New York teen to death

An East Harlem man was charged with murder and assault for allegedly fatally stabbing a teenage boy during a heated dispute in Manhattan, according to police.

The violence began just after 6 p.m. near East 108th St. and Second Ave., where police say two men and a teenager were arguing over an unknown subject when the dispute turned physical.

Saul Sanchez, 62, allegedly fatally stabbed Carlos Rivas in the chest and abdomen, authorities said. Rivas, 17, later succumbed to his injuries at Harlem Hospital.

The third man, 22, was stabbed in the left arm and Sánchez, 62, suffered a cut on his forehead. Both men were taken to local hospitals in stable condition.

Sánchez, who is also suspected of possessing weapons, was arrested on Saturday.
