In complementary shades of blue and orange or pink and green, Laura Berger‘s oil paintings merge (formerly) embracing figures with botanical elements, landscapes and celestial phenomena. Women lounge comfortably in a steam bath or walk across a vast dune area, often rendered slightly transparent as if they are floating over or absorbing their surroundings.
Berger situates the figures’ interactions at the center of the composition, bending and arranging limbs, foliage, fabric, or star arrays into intimate, metaphysical geometries.

Her visual language uses a subtle rhythm, sometimes even almost symmetry, with a nod to spirituality and transformation. The women radiate empowerment and a sense of security and surround each other in an endearing, protective collectivity.
Berger will have work in a booth presented by Mom Projects at Untitled Art Fair, which takes place in Miami Beach from December 4 to 8, and will be part of the exhibition Ultraviolet catastrophe bee The well‘s Palm Springs location, which is expected to open on December 17.
