The European Union has a fine of Apple € 500 million (approximately $ 568 million) and Meta € 200 million (approximately $ 227 million) for alleged violation of the Digital Market Act of the Blok, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The EU has accused Apple that he does not adherence to an obligation to enable App developers to inform customers about alternative ways to buy digital products.
As far as meta is concerned, the EU says that the company should stop demanding users on Instagram and Facebook to agree to personalized advertisements or to be forced to pay a subscription. The committee still decides whether it accepts “less personalized advertisements” from Meta.
Both Apple and Meta said they would appeal against the EU decisions.
