A Dual Cabs Ute has been at the top of the Australian sales cards for almost a decade, where the Toyota Hilux occupied the number one place in 2016 and held it until the Ford Ranger held it in 2023 and 2024.
Three of the bestsellers last year were double cabins, with the Isuzu D-Max fourth finished behind the Ford and Toyota with the Toyota Rav4 SUV that she split in third place.
The eternal favorites are threatened by a series of new players, including the Kia Tasman-De First Ute of the Automaker and Chinese manufacturers whose planning departments have seen Australia’s appetite for robust dual cabs who can also process daily things.

The BYD Shark 6 and the GWM Cannon Alpha won the race for bragging as the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Utes in Australian showrooms, but the 2025 Ford Ranger PHEV brings a plug-in driveway line to the best-selling Ute of Australia.

LDV Eeterron 9: Second half of 2025
Full local specifications of the battery-electric version of the LDV Terron 9 have not been unveiled, but abroad, where it is sold under the ‘Maxus’ brand, it is available with 200 kW single and 325 kW double motorcycle drains.
