The former GOP aide from New Jersey, accused of paying a fetish artist to mutilate her body in a staged anti-Trump attack, is moving in with her legally troubled, motorcycle-riding, marijuana-smoking childhood friend in Florida — hoping for a “fresh start.”
Natalie Greene, 26, was allowed to move to Fort Lauderdale to live with – and be supervised by – youth campmate Kristen Elizabeth Haughton-James, who was previously arrested for cocaine possession and driving an unlicensed vehicle on the street, a Camden court heard Wednesday.
The 30-year-old told federal Judge Elizabeth Pascal that she met Greene at summer camp 20 years ago and reconnected on Facebook after the former law student’s high-profile arrest in November.
Haughton-James – a mother of two, pictured on Instagram smoking weed and straddling her hot rod – will now act as Greene’s legal custodian, despite her previous run-ins with the law.
She was arrested last year for unlawfully driving an ATV on the street, a crime for which she is currently on probation, and was also cuffed for cocaine possession in 2013 at the age of 19.
The heavily infected part-time waitress, who sees her 7- and 2-year-old sons at least twice a week, told the court via video that she had completed a treatment program for her drug charge — although she uses medical marijuana daily for anxiety.
She agreed to report any violations by Greene, a former Maserati driving assistant, to Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), and assured Pascal that she “fully understands” her responsibilities as her friend’s watchdog.
The glamorous alleged fraudster – still marked by gruesome scars on her face and neck – will live in Haughton-James’ three-bedroom home in Florida. Greene also has a job in Florida and will continue her mental health treatment.
The court also ordered her to adhere to the curfew and continue to wear an ankle monitor.
The former Rutgers Law student’s attorney argued in court that moving to the Sunshine State “gives her a fresh start and the opportunity to act normally,” adding that her local job prospects are “little to zero.”
Greene, an Ocean City resident, was arrested in November after she allegedly staged a fake attack at the Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve, claiming three assailants held her at gunpoint, tied her up with black zip ties and held her down while slashing her face and body on July 23.
“TRUMP WHORE” and “Van Drew is a racist” were also scrawled on her body in black marker.
Federal prosecutors alleged that she paid a body modification artist $500 to cut dozens of gruesome wounds to her face, neck, chest, back and shoulders with a scalpel two days before the fake ambush.
Greene was taken to a hospital, where she and her accomplice gave police conflicting accounts of what happened and inaccurate descriptions of the phantom attackers, prosecutors said.
Authorities also found cable ties hidden in her Italian sports car.
Greene, who has completed court-ordered mental health treatment, is charged with conspiracy to transmit false statements and deception and making false statements to federal law enforcement authorities.
She faces 10 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine if convicted on both counts.
