Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen took his modern California mansion off the market – just days before the Bills coach, Sean McDermottwas fired after their loss to the Denver Broncos.
Allen, 29, made the decision to ditch his old bachelor pad on Jan. 7, four days before heading to Florida for his team’s NFL playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguarswhich took place at EverBank Stadium on January 11 at 1:00 PM ET, and where the Bills won by three points.
Just days later, the Bills suffered a devastating loss to the Broncoswhich led to the dismissal of the head coach, who held the position from 2017 to 2025.
Owner of invoices Terry Pegula revealed that the dismissal was in large part due to Allen’s reaction to losing the match, according to ESPN.

“My decision to hire a new coach was based on the results of our game in Denver. I want to take you into the locker room after that game. I looked around, the first thing I noticed was our quarterback with his head down, crying. I looked at all the other players. I looked at their faces and at our coaches. I walked up to Josh, he didn’t even acknowledge I was there.”
“He was sitting there sobbing; he was lethargic. He had given everything he had to win that game. And looking around, so did all the other players on the team. I saw the pain in Josh’s face at his presser, and I felt his pain. I know we can do better, and I know we will get better,” Pegula said.
It’s been quite a month for Allen, who helped the Bills clinch a wild-card spot in this season’s playoffs just a few days before Christmas — ten days after he and Steinfeld revealed they’re expecting their first child together.
Allen and Steinfeld, also 29, said “I do” on May 31, 2025, at the San Ysidro Ranch, in what the “Pitch Perfect 2” star later described as a day full of “love and magic.”
Weeks later, Realtor.com® revealed that the football pro had listed his four-bedroom, three-bathroom Dana Point bachelor pad for $8.5 million, seemingly in an effort to live life as a married man.

However, after Steinfeld revealed that they were expecting their first baby together, Allen quickly pulled the house off the market.
Allen purchased the 2,808-square-foot property in 2023 for $7.2 million through a trust managed by his financial advisor, Troy Nunes. Allen is believed to have spent a significant amount of time at the home during the offseason, enjoying the warm weather after a traditionally icy Buffalo winter.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is located in a ‘prestigious’ gated community with its own private beach club and close proximity to a host of five-star resorts, including the Ritz-Carlton.
According to the listing, the property embodies “classic mid-century California architecture” and “is located behind the exclusive, 24-hour security guarded enclave of Monarch Bay.”
“Positioned on one of the neighborhood’s larger private lots, it offers exceptional opportunity in a highly sought-after coastal community.”
Surrounded by lush greenery, the modern pad welcomes guests with a black and white facade and a gated entrance.
Upon entering the home, visitors are greeted with an open floor plan featuring a large living room complete with floor-to-floor windows and a cozy fireplace.

“Large openings with sliding doors create a natural flow between indoor and outdoor living, expanding the space to the California sun,” the listing adds.
Adjacent to the living room is the chic dining area and the chef’s kitchen is equipped with the latest appliances and stylish white countertops with gray cabinets.
“The formal dining room is perfect for entertaining under an elegant chandelier, while the kitchen features chic quartz countertops and ample storage,” the listing said.
The primary suite continues the gray and white color palette present throughout the home. The suite is a “private retreat with a seating area and direct access to the outdoors, offering a true indoor-outdoor experience,” according to the listing.
The master bathroom features elegant his and hers sinks and a large glass shower.
Three of the four bedrooms feature en suite bathrooms and are open to outdoor spaces.
“The nearly 12,000-square-foot flat lot backs onto Monarch Bays private parkland with direct gated access, providing a perfect canvas for a resort-style backyard with pool, spa and custom amenities,” the listing said.
“Residents enjoy exclusive membership to the private Monarch Bay Beach Club, managed by the Waldorf Astoria, which offers beach butler service, oceanfront dining, oceanfront lounging and private event space.

“Easy access to world-class golf courses, hiking, Dana Point Harbor and luxury resorts complete the unparalleled lifestyle,” the listing adds.
A native of Firebaugh, CA, Allen spends most of the season in Buffalo. However, he has maintained a close relationship with the Golden State.
The sporting sensation Also holds the keys to another sizable home, much closer to the Buffalo Bills’ training field and stadium: a custom-built mega-home he built on a plot of land he purchased in 2021 for the relatively low price of $500,000.
Located in the tony community of Orchard Park, about eight minutes from Highmark Stadium, the home features a beautiful pool, pool house, and sports court that can be used for both basketball and tennis.
It’s the perfect place for Allen to soak up the last of the warm weather when he returns to Buffalo for preseason training camp, which starts July 24.
Thanks to Steinfeld, however, the NFL pro also has his pick of properties on the West Coast, where Steinfeld owns a stunning home that she purchased for $8 million in 2021.
Located in Encino, CA, more than an hour’s drive from Allen’s Dana Point home, the home was previously owned by rocker Johannes Fogertywho sold it to Steinfeld for $7.98 million – more than $3 million more than what he paid in 2018.
The actress’s property covers no less than 9,000 square meters and has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Like Allen’s Buffalo abode, it has a sizable pool, accessed through a motorized window wall between the living room and the backyard.
If the couple hopes to invest in more real estate together, they may look elsewhere in California, specifically Malibu, where Allen popped the question to Steinfeld on November 22, 2024.
