Chicago – Immigration enforcement agents have a Venezuelan gang member who is suspected of participating in a massive shooting here in Chicago, according to the federal authorities.
American immigration and customs enforcement agents arrested Ricardo Padillia-Granadillo, 24, in Raleigh, NC, in the weekend the agency said in a press release, said that Granadillo was “illegally present” in the United States. Researchers found a gun, ammunition and “10 other Venezuelan aliens” in the house where Granadillo was arrested, the press release said.
The agency said that Grandillo is a probably member of the Tren de Aragua gang and a suspect in a massive shooting in Chicago.
Civil servants did not give any details about the massive shooting. However, eight migrants were shot, three deadly, during a house party in Gage Park in December. Federal officials have offered a reward of $ 10,000 for information about that case.
Last month three women were shot in a South Shore Alley, two deadly. CWBCHICAGO reported that the women were all migrants who may have been traded. However, law enforcement agencies, however, loosely define a “massive shooting” as an incident with four or more victims.
Grandillo had already been searched for federal charges for the illegal coming of the US, according to ICE. He entered the country illegally near El Paso on October 1, 2022, and was released with a “notification to appear,” the agency said.
“He did not show up for his immigration appointment planned for 12 September 2024, and the American attorney for the Western district of Texas issued an arrest warrant,” said the federal press release.
