Three disgruntled cemetery workers in Tennessee went on a rampage because they had just been suspended. They piled into a utility vehicle and mowed down 170 gravestones in a grim display of humanity.

Monday’s brutal massacre at Memphis’ New Park Cemetery caused Jeff Roberts, the panicked owner, to jump into his personal car to try to stop the trio — but not before they caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage. WREG reported.

Roberts said he alerted a monument supplier that he might have to place an emergency order – and hired temporary workers to straighten all the headstones by Christmas.

He did not say why the three employees were fired, but he declined to file charges because he was “concerned that they could cause more damage at this time.”

“We are contacting families whose monuments need to be replaced to let them know. We regret that this situation has occurred and sympathize with the families affected,” he added.

The headstones cost about $1,000 each.
