From a longtime industry leader to a prominent executive to a reality star and her luxury team, 2025 is all about big names, big moves and big changes.
The National Association of Realtors announced this industry veteran Sherry Chris has come on board as an independent consultant and special advisor to the CEO Nykia Wright.
Chris’s industry record includes stints as COO for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, CEO of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate and ERA Real Estate, and nearly two decades at Anywhere Real Estate Inc.
“Sherry brings unmatched expertise and a unique, informed perspective on the real estate brokerage landscape, which will be critical as we enhance NAR’s collaboration with industry partners and drive stronger alignment within the industry,” Wright said in a statement .
“Her ability to build meaningful connections and provide progressive perspectives will help guide NAR’s approach to meeting the complex and varied needs of the real estate community.”
RE/MAX President Amy Lessinger announces resignation
After less than a year at the helm, RE/MAX President Amy Lessinger announced in an SEC filing that she will resign. The filing did not give a reason for Lessinger’s departure, but noted that RE/MAX is looking for a new president.
In a brief statement to Inman Wednesday afternoon, RE/MAX said it had accepted Lessinger’s resignation. The statement added Eric CarlsonCEO of parent company RE/MAX Holdings, will “assume her responsibilities until a successor is appointed.”
The statement did not say why Lessinger left or what she might do next.
Tracy Tutor and her team leave Douglas Elliman for Compass
Million dollar listing Los Angeles star Tracy teacher and her 18-person team have left Douglas Elliman after ten years to join Compass. Tutor boasts nearly 25 years of industry experience, and she and her team have scored more than $4.5 billion in career sales.
“My brand has always been rooted in innovation and growth, and joining Compass aligns with my vision for the future of my company,” Tutor said in a statement. “This partnership will not only expand my ability to serve clients in California and Texas, but also allow me to expand my reach into new markets, grow the capabilities of my team and continue to set the standard in the luxury real estate industry .”
