The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson has been unveiled in the US as a higher-end version of the Ranger-based SUV, created in collaboration with the legendary outdoor brand.
Ford has worked with Filson before, after unveiling the Bronco Filson Wildland Fire Rig concept in 2020 to show what a Bronco configured as a firefighting forestry vehicle could look like.
Inspired by that concept, production Bronco Filson has seen designers from both companies collaborate on the collaboration’s first showroom model.
Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Filson was founded in 1897 and produces outdoor clothing and equipment, including shoes, fishing vests, hats, water canteens and hunting knives.
It also has a partnership with the United States Forest Service.

First US customer deliveries of the Bronco Filson are expected in early 2027, with announced prices “in the mid-$70,000s ($A106,319), compared to $US79,995 ($A113,400) for the flagship Bronco Raptor.
Ford Australia told the story AutoExpert it has no plans to bring the Bronco Filson – or any Bronco model – to Australian showrooms, despite sharing its underpinnings with the Ford Ranger sold here.
The Filson will be the first sixth-generation Bronco, after the flagship Raptor, to be equipped with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine – while all other models use smaller 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbo engines and 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engines – although Ford has not said whether it will have the same output of 418 hp (312 kW) and 597 Nm (440 lb-ft).
It comes standard with the Sasquatch package, which adds 35-inch all-terrain tires, front and rear locking differentials and Ford’s GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) driving modes. The Filson also gets custom-tuned Fox shock absorbers with bypass valves.
Ford says this setup is designed to improve off-road capabilities while maintaining on-road comfort, aided by a redesigned roof that, when installed, reduces cabin noise by 20 percent compared to a 2021 Bronco.
In fact, Ford claims it’s the quietest Bronco it’s ever built.
Filson contributed a range of outdoor-inspired colors from his own palette, including the exclusive Field Green Metallic paint, while unique styling accents include a custom grille, Bronco lettering and heritage-painted wheel arches, mirror caps and mounting points.
The Bronco Filson First Edition is offered in exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint, along with unique badging, a custom center console plaque and Filson-inspired cargo storage bags.
Filson-inspired removable saddlebags, designed to be dirt and water resistant, are placed throughout the cabin, which can also be accessed via new power-deploying side steps.
Inside, twill covers the heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, while premium accents include a perforated leather steering wheel and a leather-wrapped instrument panel.
There are also copper accents on the steering wheel and driving mode switch, while an upgraded B&O audio system is fitted as standard.
Ford will return the favor with a limited edition “Bronco x Filson” merchandise range available through the Filson website.
Filson is not the first outdoor clothing brand that Ford has collaborated with. From 1984 to 2010, Ford offered special Eddie Bauer editions of several SUVs, pickups and people movers in its lineup.
