Chicago – Christopher Paredes got a nice break after the Chicago police found a charged firearm in his car during a traffic control last summer. Judge Charles Burns agreed to give him a probationary period for the first time he handed over a weapon, with a 120 -hour community service. If Parades successfully completes his probationary period, his case is rejected without conviction.
He has violated that probationary period twice since he received it on September 17, officials say. What exactly happened the first time is unclear. But the second alleged violation is clear: he is accused of killing a man last week.
On January 14 around 10.47 pm, police officers from Chicago responded to a call for a “suspicious vehicle” in block 5600 in southern California. They found a dark green SUV parked on the street with bullet holes on the driver’s side and a man who was unconscious on the driver’s seat. The driver was the 43-year-old Eduardo Gamez. He was declared dead on the spot.
According to an agent on site, surveillance videos showed that the SUV had been in the street since about 8.25 pm, almost two and a half hours before the police were broadcast to investigate.
This week, public prosecutors said that Paredes is the murderer, and judge Antara Rivera arrested him because he is a danger to public safety. In her detention warrant, Rivera said that paredes “randomly shot” on Gamez. Video cameras are said to have recorded paredes, his car and the shooting.
Study searches that were performed on the telephone and the house of Paredes showed that he had searched for information about the murder on the internet and had a gun in his home that corresponds to the bullet shells found in the crime scene.
He is accused of premeditated murder.
