Chicago-armed robbers robbed a 70-year-old man and a second victim during individual crimes in West Town on Monday afternoon, according to the Chicago police. The perpetrators remain loose.
The Septuagenarian was in the 1900 block of West Huron when the theft crew arrived in a gray car around 2.20 pm, a CPD spokesperson said. They got out, showed a gun and names his keys, telephone and cash. The police said the victim was not injured.
Subsequently, around 4.15 pm an almost identical robbery took place in the 800 block of North Wood. This time a 25-year-old man ran when a gray vehicle came up. The crew got out, showed a gun and took his phone, keys and cash. Again, the victim was not injured.
Officers who spoke to the victims said the robbers were three or four black men between 15 and 20 years old who wore ski masks. Based on video of one of the robberies, the police were told that one thief was wearing a red hoodie with white pants, another wore a red hoodie with black pants, and a third wore completely black.
The police found the suspected outing car left in the 2700 block of West Hirsch about two hours after the second robbery. It was stolen.
