Help choose the winner of the People’s Choice Award for Wildlife Photographer of the Year: Colossal

A Surinam golden-eyed tree frog puffs out its cheeks to look like giant bubbles as it prepares to call for a mate.

The Nature Photographer of the Year The competition received nearly 60,000 participants from 117 countries for the 2024 competition, a huge pool from which judges will choose just 100 finalists. To involve the public in the selection process, the Natural History Museum, which develops and produces the annual event, has launched the People’s Choice Award.

Twenty-five stunning images are up for voting and capture a wide range of biological events around the world. In Botswana, David Northall encountered an overly persistent honey badger that was determined to eat a porcupine despite the spiky creature’s pointed attack. And in Bhigwan, India, Arvind Ramamurthy came across five wolves – a species whose numbers are declining due to human interference – playing in a lush meadow.

The contest runs until January 29, so check out all 25 photos and cast your vote the museum website.
