The issue: Gov. Hochul and Alvin Bragg demand fixes for laws in New York those prosecutors bump into.
It is completely ridiculous to the public prosecutor Alvin Bragg and Gov. Hochul van Manhattan can be seen who is warmly behind a push to stop criminals (“Kat Backs plea to stop criminals”, February 1).
It is more than transparent that these two only play for the new political climate.

The legislative power, city council, former government Andrew Cuomo and others share much of the debt for crime in New York.
But we all remember that Bragg’s “day one” order refuses to prosecute many crimes.
The entire system in New York City, on the other hand, was very diligent in inventing crimes to chase President Trump.
What they are doing now is like the proverbial “rats leaving a sinking ship”. National culture is changing. Soft-on-crime policy becomes political poison.
That is why Bragg and Hochul suddenly notice the problem.

Are you serious with a headline for criminals in New York to be released? Your newspaper did not complain about President Trump, essentially escaped accountability after he was convicted by a jury of his colleagues.

After reading the statistics that 62% of the things are rejected in New York, I was reminded of a dictum attributed to Martin Luther during the Reformation: “Sin brave but believe more brave.”
The religious reformer no longer encouraged sinfulness. But if it continued to occur, the consequences would not be serious because you could depend on God’s forgiveness.
Similarly, the New York’s legal system seems to be extremely forgiving. Because there are no punitive consequences in these cases, there is no incentive to change bad behavior.

The issue: Cardinal Dolan’s call for President Trump and the congress to accept legislation in the school choice.
I think it is hypocritical that Cardinal Dolan supports school choice when he continues to close Catholic schools (“Children deserve the chance to get up”, February 1).
My daughter taught for 11 years at a Catholic school. The school had full registration, the teachers had all signed contracts for 2020 and Cardinal Dolan closed her school.
How he dares to promote school choice when his first action to raise money is to close Catholic schools! Catholic schools cannot let good teachers work, because there is no guarantee that you will have a job next year.
Cardinal Dolan is right that “children deserve a chance to rise.” Unfortunately they may not get that chance from him.

I fully agree and I support Cardinal Dolan in calling on legislation to give American parents educational opportunities through school choice financing.
One question, although: which Catholic schools will still be open when legislation passes? He closed them at lightning speed.

It is a crime that Catholic charities can offer the diocese of New York Finance to tolerate the inflow of immigrants, but not for Catholic schools to stay open. Cardinal Dolan should be ashamed.
