Honda is recalling 16,000 vehicles due to steering errors

James Wong

Honda Australia has issued a recall for 16,001 vehicles for the current generation Civic, CR-V, Civic Type R and ZR-V model lines due to concerns about power steering failure.

“The worm gear grease can displace over time. If this occurs, the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system may not function as intended,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This can result in abnormal steering noise and increased steering effort.

“Increased steering effort could increase the risk of a crash resulting in serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”
