We have put a lot of our lives on Instagram – specific occasions, special people, perhaps the strange special meme or two. But between all the posts there is not much time to think about what happens to these photos and videos. What if you decide to leave Instagram? What if you want to bring back memories to another app?
Instagram actually does a good job to save your photos and video clips – even those in your story, which will disappear from sight after 24 hours. Whether you want to keep all snaps before posterity or want to visit one memory again, you have options.
Save new Instagram messages on your phone
The easiest way to ensure that everything you place on Instagram is permanently stored is by storing messages in the gallery of your phone -from there you can keep them and support them to the cloud using Google photos, Apple photos or which photo storage service you also use.
There are settings in the Instagram app to arrange this. Tap your profile photo (bottom right) and then the menu button (right right): choose Archive and downloadThen switch on all four switch switches. This means that both messages and stories are stored in the library of your phone, and stories and live broadcasts are also permanently stored in Instagram’s own archive.
When it comes to stories and reels, you can also store them manually on your phone. For stories, then tap the three dots (top right) To rescue. For Haspels, just before placing, you can browse over the icons at the bottom of the screen to find the download option (the downward arrow): Tap this to save your reel.
That should cover everything to have your Instagram content stored on your phone, and from there you can take it everywhere. If you have not yet enabled these functions or have forgotten to store something along the way, there are still methods to get images and clips from Instagram.
Save existing Instagram messages
On the internetYou can see everything you have posted on your Instagram profile by clicking Profile On the internet: keep scrolling to find the older messages and click on one of them to open a larger version. Click View the archive At the top and you can see stories from the past, even if they have disappeared from sight for your friends (and as long as you have stored the storage to archive option that we mentioned above).
To save a photo on the web, click on it and then add “/Media? Size = L” to the URL in the address bar of your browser. This then gives you a full version of the image on which you can right click to save it on your computer. For downloading bulk, Esuit Photos Downloader for Instagram is a reliable browser extension option for Chrome and Edge. However, there is no reliable way to download stories from the internet.

It is the opposite on mobile: there is no easy way to save your old messages from your profile page, except making a screenshot and then crop, but you can save your stories. Tap from your profile page on the menu button (right right), then Archive: Tap a story to view it and then tap the three points in the upper right corner and choose Save photo. However, this depends on the fact that you have engaged story archiving (see above).
Reels can also be stored on mobile, from the Reels tab on your profile (the film icon of the film): Tap the reel to open it, then Share the button (the paper plane), then scroll to the right and choose Download. Both these story and reel options work separately to download these messages while you make them.

There is another way to do this: export all data in your Instagram account. In the mobile app, tap your profile icon (bottom right) and then the menu button (top right), then Accounts Center> Your information and permissions> Download your information> Download or transfer information And choose your account. Make sure you check it Always If the date range and High Like the media quality. On the internet you can find the same option via More> Settings.
When Instagram has collected all your data, a download link will be sent to your registered e -mail address, giving you access to a full collection of your Instagram photos and videos (and other data). You can then save and support these files wherever you want.
