A Wicker Park -man was sentenced on Monday to 25 years in prison for a murder case from 2021 that was dependent on improved video evidence that was supplied by a federal forensic laboratory.
Tommie Brown, 34, argued guilty of murder in exchange for the sentence of judge William Gamboney, according to the court reports.
James Madrid died of six shot wounds on his back on the 1400 block of West Division in early 2 August 2021, the day after his 34th birthday, according to public registers.
Chicago Police Department Surveillance Video showed that Madrid only ran on Division Street and met a woman who argued around 2:30 am with a few other people, the prosecutors said.
Madrid intervened and exchanged words with the woman who claimed prosecutors that Brown’s wife was. The CPD video reportedly showed the woman who hit Madrid with her bag and hit him on the floor.
A resident of the nearby registered the incident on her phone from a nearby window and then offered it to researchers. That visual material, which CPD sent to the regional computer forensic laboratory for improvement, would point Madrid to the woman and say, “They f*cked.”
The images would also have shown the woman that the woman made a phone call in which she said: “Tommie, this n ***** stable on me, bro.“She described Madrid Brown to” come this B *** H, “claimed public prosecutors.
A few minutes later, Brown arrived on the spot in a car that registered on his wife, got out and ran behind Madrid, claimed prosecutors. He then opened the fire and hit Madrid six times in the back while he walked away. The police found eleven Shell -Omhulsels on the spot, all of which were fired by the same gun.
