Hyundai Australia recalls nearly 12,000 examples of his popular ones Santa Fe large SUV and lower volume Ioniq 6 electric sedan, as the seat belts may not work properly.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the front seat belt stopper may lose tension,” the company said in its recall notice.
“If this happens, the anchorage may become loose and, as a result, the seat belt may not function as intended.
“If the seat belt does not function as intended, the occupant may not receive the full protection of the seat belt system. This could increase the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants.”

- A total of 11,928 current generation Santa Fe And Ioniq 6 vehicles are affected, produced between 2022 and 2026
