What are the risks to get surgery abroad?
It is important to do your research if you are considering keeping cosmetic surgery abroad.
It can cost less than in the UK, but you have to weigh potential savings against the potential risks.
Safety standards in different countries may not be that high.
No surgery is risk -free. Complications can occur after surgery in the UK or abroad.
If you have complications after surgery in the UK, the surgeon is responsible for offering follow-up treatment.
Overseas clinics may not offer follow-up treatment, or they may not give it to the same standard as in the UK.
They may also have no care provider in the UK that you can visit if you have problems.
