The prosecutors said that shorter and the woman who died, the 32-year-old Kenliada Porter, checked in the hotel in the 300 block of West Grand on February 21. The next evening around 8 p.m., another guest reported a gunfire on the 30th floor where the couple stayed.

Shorter left the hotel through a side door, but a few minutes later to get another key to the reception, said officials. Minutes later, Shorter soon returned to the lobby and reportedly shot a 28-year-old female guard in the neck after they came across each other. Witnesses reported that the shooter fled in an SUV.

Researchers initially responded to calls about the second woman who was shot, but later they discovered Porter during a search in the hotel room. Officers managed CPR and applied a breast seal, hoping to save her, but she died that night in the Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Prosecutors said that detectives were Shorter’s rental car on the day after the shooting. His wallet and a gun were in the car together with Shell -Omhulsels that match the housings that the police have found in the River North Hotent Room, according to the allegations.
