Kia is recalling more than 600 units of its flagship EV9 SUV because more effort may be required to brake while using the semi-autonomous parking function.
“Due to a software issue, the Integrated Electronic Brake (IEB) system may not function as intended,” the company said in its recall notice.
“Therefore, higher braking force may be required when using the Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) key function, resulting in a longer braking distance.
“A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident, resulting in injury to vehicle occupants, pedestrians and other road users.”
Remote Smart Parking Assist is standard on the top-end EV9 GT-Line.
