Chicago – The legislators of Illinois have been working hard and developed legislative proposals that, among other things, legalize ‘magical mushrooms’, murderers and rapists who have been convicted of life in prison, the right to request conditional release and to allow registered children’s sexels to be placed 249 feet closer to grade schools.
The Illinois Sheriff’s Association, which opposes the accounts, emphasized the proposals Facebook page.
House Bill 2764who would give all prisoners, even those who have been convicted to live in prison for murder or rape, the possibility to request conditional release after 35 consecutive years of imprisonment. Two years after the passage, conditional release would be available for anyone who was imprisoned for 25 consecutive years. And on his third birthday, the bill would enable everyone to imprison for 20 consecutive years to request release. Applications would be considered by the Prison Review Board and the law would apply retroactively.
Rep. Carol Ammons introduced the bill, which has six co-sponsors.
In a similar proposal from Rep. Justin Slaughter, House account 3509 Would allow everyone except people who have been convicted of sexual violence to request release after 25 years in prison.
Senate Bill 2254 is interesting. As you may know, the Stups Act is currently forbidding sex offenders to live within 500 feet of schools, playgrounds and daycare centers. But the proposed law would enable all sex offenders in the child to get 249 feet closer to those facilities. It would not result in a limit for daycare centers and group day care homes. And if the law adopts, registered sex offenders and convicted murderers who have no “fixed address” will no longer report to the local police every week.
Senator Kimberly Lightford has lifted this idea. Sen Adriane Johnson and senator Mary Edly-Affairs have registered as co-sponsors.

House Bill 3518 would decriminalize prostitution and prostitutes give the same rights and protection as any other employee, whether they are ‘working, contracted or self -employed’. The law would also persecute the prosecution of prostitutes who persist Consual Sex Work, and it would forbid law enforcement to arrest, to charge or prosecute for the performance in sex work.
Rep. Will Gulzzardi introduced the proposal. Rep. Kelly Cassidy and Rep. Theresa Mah have joined as co-sponsors.
Magic mushrooms would be legalized under Rep. La Shawn Ford’s House Bill 1143. It makes the production and delivery of Psilocybin products possible and for the delivery of “Psilocybin Services”. The law outlines parameters for growing “psilocybin-producing fungi” like a crop and of course it imposes a load on Psilocybin.
Confessions would be inadmissible before the court if a police officer used “deception” during the interrogation below House Bill 2596. The burden would be in the state to prove that every confession that was given in “misleading” interviews was “voluntary”. Rep. Curtis Tarver II introduced the bill.
And, as previously profiled on CWB, House Bill 3458 Would legalize physical attacks by police officers if the officer should reasonably be known that the attacker had an episode of mental health.
