Long Island Dad leaves the 2-year-old in the car to shop at Walmart: Cops

A father in Long Island left his 2-year-old son in a car for about 20 minutes during the life-threatening 100-degree temps on Tuesday so he could go shopping at Walmart, the police said.

Keniarold Andre, 36, would have left the toddler in the Toyota Highlander-with a window only a few centimeters and the engine out of a CentrumEweach Walmart parking space around 13:40 in the breaking record-breaking heat, according to the authorities.

A good Samaritan with eagle eye saw the boy sleeping and called 911.

Police officers were able to unlock the car through the window and save the child, said the Suffolk County police.

Andre returned to the car when Emt’s his son were checking.

He was arrested and accused of endangering the well -being of a child.

The boy was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment and was mentioned in a stable state, the police said.

According to the police, he will soon be released to a family member.

Andre will be charged with the first central court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
