CHICAGO – A suburban man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting another man during a traffic dispute in Logan Square last fall. He is the second person this month charged with assaulting another driver during traffic incidents in Logan Square. There is no connection between the two cases.

The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. on November 19 in the 1900 block of Northern California.

In a Chicago police report, investigators said Garcia “developed road rage due to the way he was driving [the victim] stopped.” Garcia then confronted the man, whose ages are listed in various documents as 29, 32 and 35.

“Do you want to get shot?” Garcia allegedly asked the victim. ‘Do you want to die tonight?

He then shot the victim in the upper right leg, officials allege.

A U.S. Marshals Fugitive Taskforce arrested Garcia at his home on Friday. He is now being jailed on the orders of Judge William Fahy, who noted in a written detention order that Garcia is a three-time convicted felon.

Earlier this month, prosecutors charged a Franklin Park man with severely beating another man during a traffic dispute in Logan Square on December 19.

Dylan Berrio, 25, nearly crashed head-on into the victim’s car in the 2600 block of North Milwaukee around 4:30 a.m., prosecutors said. He allegedly got out of his car with a metal baseball bat and attacked the other driver.

The victim, 37, “suffered broken bones, a permanent disfigurement, and requires ongoing surgery,” Judge Ankur Srivastava said in the detention order keeping Berrio in jail pending trial.

While the victim initially refused medical attention, he later sought help and learned he suffered a broken nose and shattered cartilage in his nose, which would require surgery and result in permanent disfigurement, officials said.

He is charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery in a public place.
