Chicago-minsten one man is in custody after a man was killed outside the UIC-Halsted Blue Line Station on Saturday evening.

The victim, 61, was found on the pedestrian bridge above the station in the 400 block of South Peoria around 6.04 pm. He suffered a shot wound on his head and was declared dead at 6:37 pm

Police officers from the University of Illinois-Chicago held a man in the neighborhood and a gun was found from the person’s bag, according to CPD radio traffic. An officer who rated surveillance video said it showed two people who seemed to be CTA employees or contractors who talked to the shooter who then shot one of them in the head. Researchers worked to determine whether the victim worked for the CTA.

The police found more than a dozen shell -shell shells in the vicinity of the victim’s body.
