CHICAGO — A man was shot multiple times when an argument turned physical near the Morse Red Line station Monday afternoon, Chicago police said. He is the 32nd person shot in Rogers Park this year.

CPD said the 37-year-old got into an argument with another man in the 1400 block of West Morse around 4:50 p.m. The situation escalated, became physical and ended after the second man pulled a gun and shot the victim repeatedly, according to police. to the police.

EMS transported the victim to St. Francis Hospital in fair condition.

The shooter ran away. An officer at the scene said he was black or Hispanic and was wearing a black Nike hoodie, a black North Face cap and ripped black jeans. He may have had a thin mustache and a small goatee.

31 people were shot in Rogers Park last year, including one that was accidentally self-inflicted. There were also 31 people shot in the area in 2022, but officials ruled four of those as self-defense. Rogers Park had 24 shooting victims in 2021.
