Officers of Justice have accused a man of shooting on two pedestrians in the loop by firing a gun from under a CTA ventilation grid. The bizarre incident unfolded around 8:30 am on Monday 26 May in the 100 block of North State.
The Chicago police said that two men between the ages of 48 and 30 were on the sidewalk when Rayvon Savary began to hurry up from a limited area of the underground facility of CTA. The shots were reportedly shot by a sidewalk grid that was a ventilation area near the entrance to the red line of the state. CPD has not announced a motive.
Savary appears on Wednesday afternoon for a detention hearing on 26th and California. He is accused of heavy discharge of a firearm and illegal possession of a weapon. He was also cited for various CTA-related violations.
