Chicago – A man is in a serious condition after he was shot in Rogers Park at night, according to the Chicago police. He is the third person who was shot in the neighborhood this year.

In a short media statement, CPD said that the 28-year-old ‘was in a vehicle when he was a [gunshot wound] to the hull and shoulder ”in the 1300 block of West Estes around 12:20 pm

Officers on the spot initially said that the man told them that someone in a blue vehicle shot him on nearby Sheridan Road. But agents found Shell -Omhulsels in the 1300 block of West Estes, where the man was discovered. His car also had a bullet defect.

In other Rogers Park -shooting this year:

  • On January 14, a 62-year-old man was grazed by a bullet when someone fired shots in the 7400 block of North Damen.
  • On January 25, a 17-year-old boy walked in the 7300 block of North Ridge when a shooter opened the fire of a gray SUV and hit the teenager in the leg.

Rogers Park registered two shooting victims last year. There were three victims on February 17 in 2023 and 2022.
