CHICAGO – A 47-year-old man is in good condition after he was shot outside an apartment building in Edgewater this afternoon, Chicago police said.

Shots poured into the city’s 911 center around 2:27 p.m. Officers found the victim several minutes later in the 1000 block of West Bryn Mawr. CPD said he had been on the sidewalk when the gunman approached and fired shots, striking him in the left thigh.

He is the 19th person shot in Edgewater this year, compared to five in all of last year and 10 in all of 2022.

CWBChicago was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had become discouraged by the inaccurate information provided during local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has since expanded to Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas.
