Chicago a 40-year-old man recovers after someone shot him outside a mini-mart in Lakeview on Friday evening. The Chicago police said that the victim was not cooperating with researchers.
A caller of 911 reported Schoten fired in the 2800 block of North Clybourn at 11:06 pm Respecting officers found the victim with a shot wound on his leg near Clybourn Market, 2807 North Clybourn. He was transmitted to plead Illinonis Masonic Medical Center in good condition.
An officer who assessed security video, said the shooter fled to the west after the shooting. They described the shooter as a black man with black clothing with a navy blue backpack.
The shooting is the second of the month before the North Center Community Area. On March 8, a 53-year-old man was shot by a “famous perpetrator” in his house in the 1900-block of West Roscoe, according to CPD.
A caller of 911 reported that the shooter was her ex-boyfriend and that he came to the house and shot her roommate in the shoulder, according to police radio traffic. The suspect, who has two convictions of the crime in Cook County, fled the stage on foot.
No arrests have been announced in connection with both shooting.
For comparison: North Center had two shootings in the entire last year and only one in 2023.
