Samsung has announced that it will update its Health platform and add new AI features to the Samsung Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Ring.
During Samsung’s keynote at CES 2025, the Korean tech giant revealed how it will use AI so that existing users of its wearables will soon get even smarter usage features.

Hon Pak, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health, went into some details about what to expect from the Health update and its plans to use AI to create an ‘end-to-end’ health experience and make it easier to adopt healthier habits and detect health abnormalities.
An example of what’s coming revolves around sleep and how it will use the sleep data generated by its smartwatches and smart ring.
The example of someone who has difficulty sleeping because it is too hot in their room was used. It showed that Health can take advantage of Samsung’s SmartThings smart home platform, so it can lower your thermostat based on that interrupted period of sleep.

Pak also talked about how Health can also work with Samsung’s Food app, so that if you’re on a diet and enter that information into Health, the food app can recommend recipes based on your diet goals.
You can also receive an AI-based summary of your diet trends so you can understand what you’re paying attention to or what you may be missing in your diet.
In addition to the Health update, Pak also revealed that it has been working closely with Dexcom, makers of one of the most popular glucose monitoring devices, to improve integration with Samsung Health. It was also reported to be working with other health tech brands, including Withings, Beurer, Renpho, Core and Technogym, to do something similar.
According to Wareable, there’s more to come as Samsung is apparently planning to launch a Symptom Radar, which will look a lot like Oura’s recently launched and eponymous Symptom Radar feature that it introduced for its smart ring.
It’s not clear when the Health app update will be fully rolled out, but we expect it to happen sometime this year, giving current Samsung smartwatches and smart rings to look forward to until Samsung releases a Galaxy Ring 2 or Galaxy Watch 8 starts to tease.
CES 2025 was heavy with announcements for the Circular Ring 2, Ultrahuman Rare, EvieAI, and Lunar Ring Gen 2.
