The progressive reaction to President Trump’s deportations has just started and it is already stupid and hysterical.
According to MSNBC -Gastheren Nicolle Wallace and Joy Reid, we may be the path of another Holocaust on our way.
“Agreements with what happened in Germany and what is happening in America is simply not to be denied,” Reid said recently.
A common chorus is that the criminal illegal alien beings who are the target are overwhelming black and brown, which shows that there is something bad.
Let progressives to see in these deportees, not in the first place violent perpetrators who represent a threat to the public, but people of color who are inherent victims.
Al Sharpton claimed on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that “we are looking for people of a certain black or brown color.”
On ‘The View’, Sunny Hostin explained that Trump’s deportations do their best to focus on ‘a certain group or type immigrant’.
Hostin believes that there are a lot of Asian and European visa oversogue that come from Scot-free while the administration behind immigrants is on the border because of the color of their skin.
“So I think there is a very clear message about what this president wants the appearance of a criminal migrant to look,” she said, adding that “I think that is racist”, to applause the studio audience.
This is predictably poorly informed.
According to the Migration Policy Institute, in 2022, 80% of all illegal immigrants came in the United States from Latin -America and the Caribbean in 2022.
The top five countries of origin were Mexico (45%of illegal migrants), Guatemala (7%), El Salvador (6%), Honduras (5%) and India (3%).
No European country made the top 10. All in all, illegal immigrants from Europe, Canada and Oceania were 7%.
The photo is overwhelming from non-white illegal immigrants, who come from poor countries with some geographical proximity for us.
This is a fact.
It has nothing to do with how Trump wants to ‘look’ illegal immigrants.
If ice undertakes completely randomized raids, 80% of the people finding it will be black and brown.
Now the raids are not random – they are largely, if not entirely, focused on criminal aliens.
In general, criminal offenses are associated with low education levels and socio-economic status.
That does not mean that all poor people are criminals.
But you are more likely to get caught up in the law if you are an immigrant who did not graduate in high school compared to someone who has a medical degree.
(The same applies to the population born in the US).
So why not much Indian illegal immigrants?
If we assume that the demographic characteristics of Indian illegal immigrants are broadly in combination with – although not exactly the same as – Indian immigrants in general, they have a different profile than other illegal immigrants.
The Migration Policy Institute notes: “On average, Indian immigrants are very competent and deserve an important income: the vast majority has a bachelor’s degree or higher, their median income is more than double the American and total population born abroad, and Their probability to live in poverty is half of those of these groups. “
Hostin quoted visa overstudgers and there are a considerable amount from Canada.
But again, they are travelers and students who come from a relatively prosperous, well -trained country and it is therefore unlikely that they will be mixed with prison gangs, for example.
What is the French-Canadian equivalent of Tren de Aragua?
Of course, every illegal immigrant must be subjected to deportation, but how we draw the border, the criminal migrant, as Hostin said, will never see how they and fellow committed commentators want.
The logic of their opinion is that it is racist to keep non-white illegal immigrants out, racist to let them go and at the end of the day racist to have a country that takes its limits seriously.
And they wonder why they lose.
