Mercedes-AMG has set tongues by wagging a first glimpse of the newest independent model of the German performance brand-an electric super sedan to match the Porsche Taycan.
The darkened silhouette of the vaulted new model was posted an example of a teaser image on the social media accounts of Mercedes-AMG on the weekend, accompanied by a short caption.

Mercedes-AMG stopped revealing all the details regarding the new model, but the dimensions of the vehicle suggest that it can be the electric successor to the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupé.
For the first time we saw a heavily camouflaged version of this next generation of performance Sedan Testing in Sweden last year, but this is our first view of the real form.
The coming model makes the first independent electric vehicle (EV) platform of Mercedes -AMG, known as AMG.EA (Electric Architecture).
AMG.EA will exclusively support the performance of the EVs brand, starting with the still not mentioned GT 4-door coupé replacement.
According to Mercedes-AMG, the AMG.EA platform brings axial flux electric motors and a powerful high-voltage battery, good for a maximum of 746 kW power.
That is shy of the 815 kW output of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT when the starting arrangement is active, but more than the 700 kW produced by the Taycan Turbo S in the starting mode.
A complete unveiling of the new four -door performance EV is expected in June, with some reports that suggest that it will be called the GT4 EV.
