MG Motor Australia has confirmed that it will organize the local public debut of various new models in Melbourne in Melbourne at the beginning of April, but it has stopped attaching which.
The Chief Commercial Officer of the company, Giles Belcher, has confirmed that MG Motor Australia will “reveal several new vehicles” and that this will “be one of the first times worldwide that people can get close to these vehicles”.

‘If you want an ice [internal combustion engine] Auto, MG ‘will have seven models. If you like hybrids or plug-in hybrids, we have five models. If you want to try an EV in the future, we also have seven models, “said Peter Ciao, CEO of MG Motor Australia, last November.
“Most models will come in the next 18 months.”
This is what is in the pipeline:
S5
The new MG S5 Small Electric SUV was released here in the second quarter of 2025 and will replace the ZS EV as MG’s most compact electric SUV.
Based on the same special electric platform as the MG 4-Liège, it has standard rear-wheel drive and five-left independent rear suspension.
The S5 measures 4476 mm long, 1849 mm wide and 1621 mm long on a wheelbase of 2730 mm, making it slightly larger than the existing ZS EV.
It has a single rear electric motor that produces 125 kW power and 250 Nm of torque, making it good for a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 8.0 seconds, as well as the choice of 49.1 kWh or 62, 2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP (LFP (LFP (LFP) batteries.
Although it was previously expected that it would wear the ES5 name picture, MG made the MGS5 EV nameplate with IP Australia trademark.
Wonder r
MG is also planning to introduce the next generation of Marvel R medium -sized electric SUV, which is already spying in Australia.
The outgoing model is only built in the left drive, but the new SUV will be built in a right-hook-stain and will compete against the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7 and Xpeng G6 in Australia.
MG still has to reveal the new Marvel R and we do not yet know any technical specifications for the model.
Since this new model is likely to be sold in China, where the existing model is sold under the Roewe brand, it is possible that this vehicle will eventually be unveiled in a Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) that becomes prior to an official revelation offered.
QS
MG has previously confirmed that it will launch its first three-ride SUV in Australia in the first half of 2025, and it will be offered with both petrol and plug-in hybrid power lines.
The company has submitted trademarks for the QS, QS PHEV, QS AWD and QS plug-in hybrid nameplates.
MG recently introduced a new model in markets such as the Midden -East and Mexico called the RX9, on which the QS can be based.
The MG RX9 is a slightly herstyled version of the RX9 launched by Sister Saic Motor Brand Roewe in 2022, just like how the ROWE RX5 became the MG HS.
In regions such as the Middle East and Mexico, the SUV of the new generation is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with turbo charger that produces 150 kW and 350 Nm, coupled with an automatic transmission with nine gears.
In China there is a more powerful 178 kW/392 Nm 2.0-liter turbo-petrol motor available.
The RX9 measures 4983 mm long, 1967 mm wide and 1786 mm long on a wheelbase of 2915 mm, making it 17 mm longer, 37 mm wider and 31 mm larger than a Toyota Kluger on a 65 mm longer wheelbase.
Inside, in addition to seven seats, there are a pair of 12.3-inch displays, as well as available heated, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats and a panoramic sunroof.
HS Hybrid+ and PHEV
The second generation MG HS medium-sized SUV was released here last year exclusively with gasoline, but a plug-in hybrid option returns.
In a scoop for the HS there is also a conventional hybrid that carries the same hybrid+ branding – and probably with a similar powertrain – to electrified versions of the ZS and MG 3 Hatch.
Hybrid+ and PHEV variants were previously confirmed for a local launch during the second half of 2025.
The HS Hybrid+ has yet to be unveiled, but MG has already detailed the HS PHEV for the British market.
It has a 105 kW turbocressor 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine linked with a 24.7 kWh battery, for total system outputs of 226 kW and 432 Nm.
WLTP range in the new UK-Spec HS PHEV is 121 km, compared to the 63 km figure of the outgoing HS Plus EV measured on the more mild NEDC cycle.
Mg 7
The MG 7 -Liftback has previously been confirmed for a local launch during the second half of 2025, but has been for sale in China since 2022.
Launching a petrol-driven medium-to-large passenger car in Australia in 2025 is certainly a choice in the left field, but MG does not expect that the MG 7 is a large volume model.
The gasoline-driven liftback will slide into the line-up as a rival for a decreasing number of medium-sized passenger cars that are available in our market, including the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata.
In China it is offered with a 138 kW/35 Nm 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a seven-speed gearbox with double clutch or a 192 kW/405 Nm 2.0-liter turbo four with a car with nine gears.
Depending on the variant, available functions include an electronic differential with limited slip, adaptive dampers and an adaptive three-phase electric rear wing.
Inside there is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster in the same assembly, with an augmented reality head-up display option.
A full series of active safety technology is also available, depending on the variant, just like a Bose Sound System of 14 speakers, 256-colors ambient light and heated and power-adjustable front seats.
IM models
MG Motor Australia CEO Peter Ciao confirmed at the end of last year that the company will import a few premium EVs to Australia: one sedan and one SUV, both from the IM Motors brand.
The Premium IM Motors brand from SAIC Motor currently offers a few sedans and a few SUVs. The newest of these vehicles – the L6 Sedan and LS6 SUV – seem to be most likely to come here and will wear the MG Octagon Badge.
The LS6 is offered in China with 400V, 800V and 900V electrical systems; and 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate and 83 kWh and 100 kWh Ternaire lithium batteries. Range is between 625 km and 802 km on the CLTC cycle.
It measures 4910 mm long, 1988 mm wide and 1669 mm long on a wheelbase of 2960 mm, making it about the same size as a BMW IX.
In its least powerful mom of rear-wheel drive, it produces 216 kW and 450 Nm and completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in a claimed 6.4 seconds; In Toppecter Dual-Motor four-wheel drive it is said that it will be 100 km/h in just 3.48 seconds thanks to the outputs of 579 kW and 800 Nm.
Inside there are 26.3-inch and 10.5-inch touch screens, plus a 15.5-inch passenger display available.
Available equipment includes air suspension, a tank exchange function, a sound system with 20 speakers and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, Plus PET and camping modes.
The L6 -Sedan is very similar to the LS6 SUV on the inside and outside, up to the massive screens, and measures 4931 mm long, 1960 mm wide and 1474 mm long on a wheelbase of 2950 mm.
It is offered with the same range of batteries and drive lines, where the longest order model with a large 100kWh battery and rear-wheel drive-entry to travel on a single load of up to 850 km.
Ute
MG has previously indicated that it is planning to launch a UTE to help achieve its ambitious sales goals, but has stopped confirming the launching timing.
Mr. Belcher said in November: “Our plan is to be top five by the end of 2030 by the end of 2027 and the top three. You can’t do it without a UTE, so connect the dots.”
It is unclear whether this will be a new vehicle, or whether we can expect a slightly herstyled version of an existing SAIC engine product.
MG sells a UTE in Thailand, the extender, which is a recovered LDV T60. However, this does not come to Australia.
LDV (AKA Maxus) has a new generation, larger Ute called the Terron 9, which may produce an MG version.
This will also be available with electrical power under the nameplate of Eeterron 9. Both models will be launched in Australia in 2025 with LDV -Badges.
The Teron 9 will wrap a 2.5-liter turbo cellysel four-cylinder engine with 164 kW, while the Eeteron 9 offers the choice of 200 kW single-motor rear-wheel drive or 325 kW double motor power trains with double motors.
