Strategy Executive chairman Michael Saylor reveals an ambitious plan to strengthen the already boisterous Bitcoin (BTC) holdings of the company.
In a new message on the social media platform X, Saylor says that strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, is sale $ 21 billion in preferred Strk shares to tackle more coins.
The announcement Comes in the midst of a turbulent market, with Bitcoin prices in the past month with 17% in addition to a considerable stock market correction.
According to the announcement, the funds will be allocated for general business purposes, including the acquisition of extra bitcoin. Strategy, all Bitcoin’s largest public company holder, currently has 499,096 BTC, with a value of around $ 41.2 billion.
Strategy says that the share sales, part of the “21/21 plan” of the strategy, aims to attract capital by issuing 8% series A Petual Strike preferred stock.
The issue of perpetual preference shares will enable strategy to attract considerable capital without committing itself to a reimbursement time line, because these shares miss a term date.
While speaking At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this week, the strategy -executive chairman argued that BTC was digital ownership and was an important tool for the US to possess “Cyberspace” in the future.
“At the moment you can literally buy it for a song and dance. That’s the chance.
The risk is that you would not want the Saudis to buy first, or the Russians or the Chinese or the Europeans. And there is only room for one nation state to buy 20% of the network, and of course I think it should be the United States. I think it will be the United States. It is a way for us to enrich ourselves and to appear as a creditor in a matter of ten years. It is also a way for us to ensure that we are the economic leaders in Cyberspace. ”
