In the past two years, the artist established in Sydney has learned how to turn fiber. “I did not expect that the pure meditative situation allows it, which is in stark contrast to the complex pre-planning that is involved in my weaving practice, especially passion tune,” she explains. “I am a chronic reflection and the countless options that are offered in fiber work can often lead to a kind of writers’ block.”

Although Robinson initially had goals to scale up her work, she has found more growth instead to create a continuous series of small -scale iterations, experimenting with different fibers, yarners and color palettes.
Robinson has also worked on recording her enormous personal collection of woven textile cloths, embellishments and wallpaper, which she still loves her earlier efforts in soft furniture.
