Two migrant teenagers were arrested Wednesday for stealing thousands of dollars worth of designer duds from a Macy’s in downtown Brooklyn, law enforcement sources said.
Alan Bello, 18, and a 17-year-old boy whose name has not been released took a stash of designer clothing during the robbery at the Fulton Street department store just after 9 p.m., police said.
They tried to leave with the stolen goods — worth about $2,421 — before a worker stopped them, police and sources said.
Police responded and arrested both teens at the scene and charged them with grand larceny, police said.
They are known as migrants, sources said, although their country of origin was not immediately known.
It was also unclear whether the pair had previously been arrested in the Big Apple.
In a similar case last spring, Venezuelan migrant Brian Castillos, 22, was arrested for trying to steal $299 worth of merchandise from the same Macy’s, according to that indictment.
According to those complaints, he was also arrested this year for allegedly using a stolen credit card at an NBA store in Manhattan and taking a woman’s necklace during a sidewalk robbery in Hell’s Kitchen.
