The Motorola Edge 60 fusion has been announced and it is an unusually difficult budget smartphone option.
We were impressed by last year’s Edge 50 fusion, mainly because of the sharp design and the impressive battery life.
The successor introduces some small but potentially impactful upgrades that can make it a great alternative for the recently announced Galaxy A26 from Samsung.
A striking design
Motorola’s vaulted design returns, but this time the Edge 60 merger is just as heavy as good looking. Just like the Moto G85, it has military grade MIL-STD-810H built quality, while IP68 and IP69 certification goes beyond typical flagship levels of water and dust resistance.

With Gorilla Glass 7 around the front we expect that this is a hard note to crack. At the back, the vegan leather finish of Motorola returns for extra grip.
The telephone is located by a 6.67-inch amoled display that the Edge 50 Fusions rather unnecessary 144Hz Maximum refreshing speed scales back to the industry-standard 120Hz. Instead, Motorola has yielded the resolution a notch to 2712 x 1220.
An impressive specification sheet
The Edge 60 -Fusion is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chip, of which we have seen variants that feed the Poco X7 and the Oppo Reno 12 Pro. This is a capable artist, in our experience, and it is supported here by 8 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage.
Motorola has also continued with its battery determination. At 5200 mAh it is above average for such an affordable phone. Speedy 68W wired also comes back, although there is no wireless charging.
When it comes to photography, the Edge 60 merger has a 50MP Sony Lytia sensor with OIS, accompanied by a 13MP Ultrawide with a 120-degree field of vision on the back. Although it looks like there is a third rear lens, it is actually a light sensor. At the front you will find a 32MP lens.
The setup seems to be unchanged compared to the Edge 50 fusion, so hopefully there will be some improvements to the software side.
Key Moto AI functions
The Edge 60 Fusion runs light skin from Motorola over Android 15, although it also adds important Moto AI functions.
Motorola indeed seems to be more generally playing for AI with this year’s model. ‘Catch me Up’ will summarize your missed notifications, while ‘Note’ automatically transcribes and summarizes conversations. You can also instruct the phone to ‘remember this’, and it will record what is on your screen.
‘Magic Canvas’ can now generate images based on natural text descriptions.

Motorola
Motorola promises OS -Upgrades and six years of security updates for three years. That is far from the best in the classroom, but the latter represents an advance on the Rand 50 Fusion’s four years of security patches.
A big Samsung rival
The sale of the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion starts today, with availability in three colors approved by Pantone: Slipstream, Amazonite and Zephyr.
Prices start from £ 299.99, which is a discount of £ 50 on the first RRP of the Edge 50 Fusion. You can now buy one from the Motorola UK website, with the availability of Amazon confirmed for mid -April.
It is probably no coincidence that this is the same price as Samsung’s Galaxy A26 – the two seem to be about to go. But it is not clear whether the phone will ever be available in the US – the Edge 50 -Fusion was never.
