Motorola has consistently achieved the boundaries with its Edge series and supplies premium smartphones with competitive prices.
After the success of the Edge 50 series, which impressed the design, camera performance and fast charging options, the Edge 60 series is expected to refine these functions and possibly introduce innovations.
Here is everything we know so far.
When is the Motorola Edge 60 series released?
Motorola has no set of release schedule for its flagship Edge series, but earlier launches offer some instructions.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra was announced on April 16, 2024 and was available for purchase on 5 May 2024. Likewise, the Edge 40 Pro was unveiled and launched in April 2023.
Given this pattern, it is very likely that Motorola will reveal the Edge 60 Ultra, or at least one model from the Edge 60 series, in April or May 2025.
However, we do not know how many of the previous models will have a successor this year, because Motorola can omit some of them.
For context, here is when recent models are launched in Europe:
As usual, do not expect that the Edge 60 series will be available in the US, because Motorola does not sell its phones there.
How much does the Motorola Edge 60 series cost?
The most powerful Edge 50 Ultra saw a price increase of € 100 compared to its predecessor, which brought the starting price to £ 849.99/€ 999 for the 512 GB model. If Motorola follows the same price strategy, the Edge 60 Ultra is also expected to be launched at £ 849.99/€ 999.
Despite the price increase, the flag telephones from Motorola remain more affordable than competing models from Samsung and Google. Moreover, Motorola often offers discounts with the launch, and large carriers in the UK and EU usually include promotions or bundle offers.
At the moment, however, we do not know how much the other devices can cost in the series. Expect at least the same prices as their predecessors:
What specifications and functions does the Motorola Edge 60 series have?
Although there is currently no information about most expected models in the series, Phone Arena has shared some information about the Edge 60 Ultra flagship.
Design
Motorola has set up a reputation for Bold and Premium Designs in its flagship models. The Edge 50 Ultra -Bestrobe unique rear panel materials, including wood and vegan leather, which will probably return with the Edge 60 Ultra.
The frame will probably remain aluminum to maintain a competitive price because opting for stainless steel or titanium would considerably increase costs, making them unlikely choices.

An expected improvement is in the durability of the display, possibly upgrading Gorilla Glass Victus to Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The general design language should remain consistent, with a slim, curved profile that is comfortable to hold.
Reproduction
Motorola has consistently supplied high -quality displays, in particular in its ultrasy series.
The Rand 50 Ultra has a 1220 x 2712 resolution screen with a variable 144Hz renewal speed and a peak clearance of 2500 nits.

Since this display is already one of the best in the industry, the Edge can retain 60 ultra these specifications or introduce small refinements.
Performance
The Edge 50 Ultra was powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a slightly less powerful variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Although it delivered excellent performance, it was not entirely the same as Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, especially in graphic images.
In our Geekbench 6 Multi-Core test, the Edge 50 Ultra scored only 5384 points, while the standard Galaxy S24 scored 6251 points.

The Edge 60 Ultra could continue with the “S” variant of Qualcomm’s flagship processor to keep the costs lower or to opt for the fully -fledged Snapdragon 8 -elite for better performance.
The final decision will determine how well the device competes with other flagship telephones in 2025.
Cameras
Motorola surprised many with the impressive camera performance of the Edge 50 Ultra, especially in still photography. However, the quality of the video recording quality was an area that needed improvement.
The Edge 60 Ultra can retain the same camera specifications as its predecessor, with a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP UltraWide lens with autofocus, a 64MP telephone lens with 3x zoom and OIS, and a 50MP pre-focus pre-focus.

Motorola can also introduce new image sensors to improve the sharpness, clarity and overall image quality.
Given that HDR and stabilization were already strong in the Rand 50 Ultra, improvements in video recording can be an important focus.
Battery and charging
The Edge 50 Ultra delivered a solid battery life thanks to the 4500 mAh battery and efficient chipset.
The phone was able to get through a 16 -hour day of moderate use, with the display that was raised to a fixed 144Hz or 120Hz and is left behind by around 40 to 45%.
However, if the edge 60 ultra-upgrades to a more powerful chipset upgrade, the battery life can suffer.

Charging speeds are likely to remain unchanged, load wired with 125 W wired and still wireless charging still available under the fastest in 2025.
The 50 Edge Ultra can fully charge in just 18 minutes.
Software
The Edge 60 series is almost certainly launched with Android 15 and the newly redesigned Hello UX, the Android -skin of Motorola. It is expected that it will result in a series of new functions, including more of the Moto AI.
A point of care is software support, because the Edge 50 Ultra has only received Android updates and four years of security patches for three years.
Hopefully Motorola will increase support for four years OS updates and five years of security updates to match trends in the industry.
