Motorola is set to expand its folding telephone setup with the upcoming RAZR 60 series in 2025.
Building on the success of the RAZR 50 and RAZR 50 Ultra, the new devices would be expected to have advanced technology and design. Based on earlier releases, we would expect them to be called the Razr 60 and Razr 60 ultra.
In the US, the ultra model will be known as the Razr+ (2025), as confirmed by Android heads and well-known Leaker Evan Blass.
Although concrete details remain scarce, speculation about the release date, prices and functions offer an exciting look at what Motorola could deliver.
When is the Motorola Razr 60 released?
In August 2024, Gizmo China reported that Motorola was working on the device with ‘Orion’ with the model number XT2551-3. The prefix ‘XT25’ also seems to confirm the planned launch year of the device if 2025.
Now, according to the report of 91Mobiles, the RAZR 60 Ultra has come closer to the launch, because it is certified by the BIS authority in India under the model number ‘XT2551’. This certification offers few extra details, but it confirms the device as the successor of the RAZR 50 Ultra, which had the model number ‘XT2451’.

This is in line with the established naming conventions of Motorola and suggests that a new generation could be coming soon. Further confirmation of the RAZR 60 Ultra Name came through the TDRA certification documents of the VAE, which clearly mention the name next to the model number.
The phone also appeared on the Chinese Tenaa certification site, which also indicates an imminent launch. According to Android Headlines, the Razr 60 Ultra could arrive earlier than the late June RAZR 50 Ultra from last year.
As a reminder, the Razr 50 Ultra was certified by the BIS for Sales in India in April last year, and then the phone was then launched worldwide in June. If this two -month delay continued between certification and launch, the Razr 60 could have been official As soon as March. That clearly did not happen, so April is now the earliest
How much does the Motorola Razr 60 cost?
Although there is no official word about prices, it is reasonable to believe that the RAZR 60 telephones will be priced in the same way as their predecessors.
To reference, the RAZR 50 Ultra (RAZR+ (2024) in the US) launched £ 999/$ 999, while the regular Razr 50 (Razr (2024)) started at £ 799.99/$ 699.99.
Hopefully Motorola can introduce new functions without increasing prices. It would also be great if Motorola would not make the regular model so much more expensive in the UK than the US, as was the case in 2024.
What specifications and functions will the Motorola Razr 60 have?
The Motorola Razr 60 series is expected to build on the strong base laid by its predecessors.
Although details still have to be revealed, the investigation of the RAZR 50 series gives instructions about what we can see in the next generation.
Design
Official-looking renders of the Razr 60 Ultra were posted by Android heads in collaboration with Evan Blass, and they reveal a device that looks a lot like the Razr 50 Ultra. Both have a fairly good track record for telephone designs.
Apart from a slightly darker hue green, it doesn’t look like much has changed. Read more in our separate news story: Motorola Razr 60 Ultra Image Lek reveals everything.

Android -Koppen
Since then, Evan Blass has shown the phone in different colors: green, Rio red, pink and even a woody finish reminiscent of the 50 Ultra edge.
The general design is comparable to last year’s phone, with a structured vegan leather back and the same cameralay out. The dimensions remain at 171.5 x 74 x 7.3 mm unfolded, and it weighs 199G, according to a list on the Tenaaa database.
Reproduction
The Razr 50 and RAZR 50 Ultra contain a stunning 6.9-inch LTPO Amoled display, and their successors are expected to continue where those devices had gone.
The ultram model is expected to have a 6.9-inch Pold-Ininnic screen (2640 x 1080, 165Hz) and a 4-inch external OLED cover screen, identical to the Razr 50 Ultra.
The regular Razr 60 will differ slightly, according to the Wide related Xpertpick. It is expected that it will use a smaller 6.7-inch Poled panel, so that a return to a more compact folding is marked.
Motorola could also improve the external cover displays, making them larger and more functional for fast interactions.
As a reminder, while the Razr 50 has a 3.4-inch external display, the RAZR 50 Ultra offers a 4-inch screen. Android Headlines suggests that the company is sticking to the same specifications, at least on the Ultra.
Performance
Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, the Razr delivered 50 Ultra Exceptional performance.
On the other hand, the regular Razr 50 contained the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, which was not a great artist.

The photo is mixed in terms of upgrades.
Xpertpick saw a mention on the Geekbench database with the “Motorola Razr Ultra 2025” label that is powered by the Snapdragon 8 elite and an Adreno 830 GPU.
Moving to the newest and largest chipset in Qualcomm would be a surprising move, since the 8s gene 3 in 50 Ultra was a big step than the regular 8 gene 3.
If it is true, this would mean that the Razr 60 Ultra would be able to give the head with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which will probably use the same chip.
According to Android heads, the Ultra will be available with a maximum of 12 GB RAM and start with 256 GB internal storage.
Tenaa reports confirm 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB and 18 GB RAM and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB, although these high-end variants can only be China.
The Standaard Razr 60 will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X, a small step up from last year’s 7300X, per Xpertpick.
Cameras
The RAZR 50 Ultra’s 50MP Hoofd lens, 50MP Telefoto and 32MP camera on the front offered impressive photography options for a folding device.
The arrangement of the RAZR 50 exchanged a 50MP telephoto lens for a 13MP Ultrawide camera, but still produced great photos.

On the Razr 60 Ultra it seems that we will see an identical set of rear cameras. But the SelfiCam will see an improvement, as mentioned by Tenaa. Expect improvements in sensor technology, better performance with little light and possibly extra lenses for versatile shooting options.
Improved AI functions for photography and videoography can also be part of the package.
In the meantime, the Razr 60 continues to stick to a 50MP main and 13Mp ultrawide back, plus a 32MP Selfie shooter.
Battery and charging
A 4000 mAh battery feeds the Razr 50 Ultra and offers about one and a half use of use for most people. Although Android Headlines initially said that the capacity will not change on his successor, this no longer seems to be the case.
Of the RAZR 60 Ultra it is said that it comprises a battery with double cells with a total of 4,275 mAh, with a typical capacity of approximately 4,500 mAh. Tipster Anvin on X and Tenaa reports this increase, which has risen by 12.5% compared to the 4,000 mAh of the Razr 50 Ultra.

Interestingly, the regular RAZR 50 has a larger 4200 mAh battery that you spend through a full day with about 50% battery. And it seems that the cheaper model will again have a large capacity.
The RAZR 60 is expected to contain a 4,500 mAh battery, with 30 W wire wire probably return.
The last time supported the smaller battery in the 50 Ultra -Model 45W charged wired, while the RAZR 50W supported only 30W wired. Both offered 15 W wirelessly charging.
3C certification that is spotted by Ithome, however, mentions a 68W charger (Mod MV-688N), which suggests that a upgraded charge quickly, at least on the Ultra.
Software
The Near Stock Android experience from Motorola is a highlight of his phones. The Razr 60 series is expected to launch with the latest Android 15, complete with the intuitive additions of Motorola for folding functionality.
Improved multitasking functions, adaptable external display interactions and seamless app continuity between folded and unfinished modes are likely to be emphasized.

However, it is not clear whether Motorola will improve its dedication to software updates. The Razr 50 and 50 Ultra’s three years of OS from OS and four years of security upgrades are far behind the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which offers seven years of both.
