Motorola has announced the latest phones in its impressive folding range, the RAZR 60 and the Razr 60 Ultra.
The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra was perhaps our favorite foldable of 2024, while the Razr 50 was a tempting (relatively spoken) alternative.
So how do their follow-ups, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra and Razr 60 on? What is even more important, how do they relate to each other?
We are still in the early days of compiling our thoughts on both phones, but here is how Motorolas 2025 – foldable substances – known as the Razr (2025) and RAZR Ultra (2025) in the US – stack on top of each other.
Design and Build
Although both devices are very similar to their direct predecessors of the Flip-phone, both redesigned titanium-enhanced hinges that can withstand up to 35% more folds than the RAZR 50-generation.
Both also IP48 dust and underwater protection (up from IPX8), which means that they are more dust-resistant than before, while staying safe for a clinking in fresh water.
The two Razr 60 models are quite similar in size. The Ultra measures 73.99 x 171.48 x 7.19 mm while open, compared to the Razr 60’s 73.99 x 171.30 x 7.25 mm. However, the Ultra is a fairly heavier at 199G compared to the Razr 60’s 188G.
The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is available in four special finishes: luxurious Soft-Touch Alcantara (the first phone using the Italian brand), real wood, luxury satin inspired finish and faux leather.

With the Razr 60 you can choose from a durable leather finish, a nylon -inspired finish or lightweight acetate.
The Ultra model also gives you a new special AI key, with which you have quick access to Moto AI functions.

Displays
The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra has a huge 7-inch Pold display on the internal surface, which is slightly larger than the Still-Huge 6.9-inch panel from Razr 60.
The internal display of the Ultra is the first Flip telephone screen that is validated Pantone, which continues the work of the company with the Color Matching Company.

It is also sharper than his little brother, with a so-called super HD resolution (aka 1224p) with a pixel density of 464ppi. The main screen of the Razr 60, on the other hand, is FHD+ with a pixel density of 413ppi.
Both are LTPO panels, so their refresh rate can vary according to the task that must be performed. Although the RAZR 60 Ultra up to 165Hz can scale in supported games, the Razr 60 can only touch 120Hz.
The ultram model can also become brighter compared to a 4500 Nits peak. The Razr 60, on the other hand, can touch 3000 Nits. Only the RAZR 60 Ultra Display supports Dolby Vision.

As far as the internal display is concerned, the RAZR 60 Ultra’s is a 4-inch pold with a refresh rate of 165h while the Ultra 3000 nits can hit, the RAZR 60 can only touch 1700 Nits.
The Razr 60 Ultra is the first Flip telephone that covers its external display in Corning Gorilla Glass ceramics, which has 10x better resistance than the others. The external display of Razr 60 uses Gorilla Glass Victus.
Both camera systems are equipped with Pantone validated and pantone skintone validated approvals, which promises to give sufficient color.
Cameras
The Razr 60 Ultra has the world’s first triple 50MP camera system on a Flip telephone, although one of them is a 50MP selfie camera. There is no dedicated telephone here.

The Razr 60 now gives you a 50MP main camera, a 13MP Ultra-Wide and a 32MP selfieCam.
Both ultra-wide cameras also have the option to make macro recordings.
When it comes to capturing videos, the RAZR supports 60 Ultra up to 8K at 30 fps or 4K at 60 fps, while the RAZR 60 4K supports with 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps.
Only the Ultra offers the possibility to capture, edit and indeed watch videos in Dolby Vision.

Performance
There is a clear gap in the performance here, with the RAZR 60 Ultra active on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip. That is as fast as it becomes now, and it is supported by 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM.
The RAZR 60, on the other hand, runs on the new but more upper-Midden-Range MediaTek Dimensity 7400X. This is supported by 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM.

There is 512 GB or 1 TB storage on the Ultra model and either 256 GB or 512 GB on the regular Razr 60.
Software
Both telephones are performed on Android 15, and both offer access to Moto AI – Motorola’s Suite or AI functions, including catching up, Note and remember this. In the meantime, the next step acknowledges what is on the screen (think of recipes or travel routes) and offers suggestions.
With Smart Connect Met AI you can pick up media on your TV with a simple vocal prompt.
As already mentioned, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra has a special AI button for access to Moto AI functions in a Snap.

Battery and charging
As you would expect, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra has the larger battery of the two. It has a 4700 mAh cell to the Razr 60’s 4500mAh.
The Ultra also supports 68W turbopower wired faster and 30W wirelessly. The Razr 60, on the other hand, only extends to 30W turbopower charging and 15W wireless.

Price and availability
Both the RAZR 60 Ultra and the RAZR 60 are available to buy from today. The prices start from £ 1,099.99/€ 1,299 for the Ultra and € 799 for the Razr 60.
We will update this as soon as the prices and availability of UK and the US are confirmed.
Do you have to buy the Motorola Razr 60 or Razr 60 Ultra?
It depends on how much you want to spend and what your priorities are. The Razr 60 Ultra is clearly the better phone, but it is priced to fit.
However, if you are new in a Flip telephone and are looking for slightly more affordable, the regular Razr 60 is still a strong choice. Watch out for our full reviews of both soon, but in particular the Ultra is an important rival of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7.
