A maniac in New Jersey shot his married neighbors on Monday afternoon and then barricaded himself in his Jersey Shore Mansion and committed suicide after an impasse of two hours with the police, the authorities said Tuesday.
John Adamo, 54, Van Berkeley Township, shot the husband down while he was standing home outside his Drake Drive at about 4.45 pm, According to Ocean County public prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
Then he turned his gun on the house and shot the woman while she stood in it.
Then he retired in his house next door and wiped over the next two and a half hours of overtures from the local SWAT teams that surrounded the house, Billhimer wrote.
“I heard two very loud gunshots,” A Neighbor told NBC New York. “I walked on the street to warn someone and the police arrived.”
One of the teams eventually blew the front door of his hinges and swarmed the house on a small channel just a few minutes from the beach.
They found Adamo dead in a bedroom upstairs – after he apparently shot himself, the authorities said.
Civil servants evacuated neighbors because the team also found a pressure cooker in the bedroom, but a bomb team from the New Jersey State Police later thought that the device was not rigged to explode.
The non -Geidified victims of Adamo were both flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptunus, where they are mentioned in critical but stable state, Billhimer said.
The police did not say what the motive of Adamo could have been.
