Roku is always known for offering some of the most competitive streaming sticks on the market, and the latest launches are no different.
They are the Roku streaming stick (£ 29.99/$ 29.99) and Roku streaming Stick Plus (£ 39.99/$ 39.99), and they will replace the Roku Express and Roku Express 4K if they are launching – although the stock to the left of the old models is empty.
The Roku streaming stick is best for those who want to stream with a budget. Together with playback control there are quick buttons for specific streaming apps such as Netflix and a button for speech control. However, content is covered on HD/1080p. So this stick is perfect for those who only have Netflix standard instead of premium or are not forced around 4K.
If you cannot be without UHD streaming, then the Roku streaming Stick Plus is the best option for you. It has all the bells and whistles of the media player above, only with 4K image quality and HDR color. The Roku interface is also extremely easy to use and has a wide range of apps.
These streaming sticks can be connected directly to the back of your TV, an improvement of earlier builds with a separate cable and a box, which often made access to other HDMI ports more difficult. They now also have a TV -on / off button and volume controls, so users are not allowed to reach a second remote control.
Perhaps a large draw is the price, especially in comparison with the latest device from Google – the Google TV streamer, which has replaced the more affordable Chromecast. This will reduce £ 99/$ 99 at the full price.

Although this is, this contains more advanced functions such as an Ethernet port for faster wired speeds and a more powerful processor, these functions may not be sufficient for users to pay three times as much in the case of the regular streaming stick.
The new Roku models will be launched in the US on 6 May. British readers have to wait until June until the devices are on the shelves. You can see how we rank the current models compared to rivals from Google and Amazon in our list of the best streaming sticks.
