New York teen is in critical condition after being shot in the head in Brooklyn, police say

A 15-year-old boy was clinging to life after he was shot in the head in Brooklyn — just hours before a 33-year-old man was shot dead in the Bronx, police said Saturday.

The teen was found Friday around 8:45 p.m. near Lenox Road and Rockaway Parkway in Brownsville, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

He was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.

There were no immediate suspects or motive for the shooting, police said.

The bloodshed was investigated.

Hours later, a 33-year-old man was shot dead during an argument in a public housing building in the Bronx, police said.

According to police, the man was shot in the chest around 1:50 a.m. Saturday at 3475 Bivona St. in NYCHA’s Boston Secor development.

Police had responded to the address after a 911 call about a dispute there.

The identity of the victim was pending family notification.

There were no immediate arrests and police were searching for surveillance footage.

The nature of the argument was unknown, according to police.

The number of people shot in the city so far this year has fallen from 950 to 906, or 5% from the same period in 2023, NYPD data shows.
